Troubleshooting verification emails for UQ and La Trobe students

Created by Amanda Zhu, Modified on Fri, 17 Apr at 6:19 PM by Amanda Zhu

If you are a student at University of Queensland or La Trobe University, you may have accidentally used your student username instead of your official email address during registration.

At these specific universities, usernames (e.g., s1234567) are for system login only and cannot receive incoming mail, even if they look like email addresses.

What email address should I use to register for a BioCommons Access account?

You must use your official university email format to receive the verification email:

University
Correct Email Format
University of Queensland
firstname.lastname@student.uq.edu.au
La Trobe University
12345678@students.latrobe.edu.au

How do I fix this?

  • Re-register: Go back to the BioCommons sign-up page and register again using the official email format listed above.
  • Check Spam: If you used the correct email but still see nothing, check your spam or junk folder.
